Primary Roles

  • Customer Service Representatives
The customer service representatives (CSRs) are integral members of the patient care team. CSRs work closely with all functions within PPS to ensure that all patients, physicians, and office staff receive outstanding and timely service. Understanding that our patients are often in fragile health and physicians' offices are very busy, CSRs make life easier for patients and office staff alike.
  • Technicians (Drivers)
Technicians are the first line of care for PPS patients and foster compassionate relationships with patients. Not only are they responsible for delivering equipment and supplies to patients, they also educate patients to ensure that each patient is able to use the equipment properly and safely within their home. The technicians also perform ongoing education and equipment maintenance, as well as maintain our warehouses.
  • Operations Manager
Operations managers (OM) oversee the operations of several local centers. They are responsible for ensuring that our patients, physicians, and physicians' office staff receive excellent service. This includes timely set-ups, complete paperwork, and problem resolution. In addition, OMs are responsible for efficiently managing operational resources and maintaining delivery vehicles, equipment, and warehouses.

Customer Service Representative Yolanda TamezA Day in the Life of a Customer Service Representative

Yolanda Tamez, Porterville, California

PPS Centers are the heart of our organization. They provide assistance to the patients in partnership with referral sources (physicians, sleep centers and their staff). At the core of our centers are the Customer Service Representatives; the support team of the Field group. They work in conjunction with all other positions at the centers in providing excellent patient care and building positive relationships.

Yolanda Tamez, a 12 year veteran Customer Service Representative at PPS, describes her job as "all about team work and being organized". In between processing patient files, coordinating with PCCs, Referral sources and Technicians, running reports and answering calls and emails, Yolanda recognizes the value of working with a group she feels comfortable with. "We are like a family. We make each other laugh to keep the day going, but we know what's important, and that's getting the job done right".

In Yolanda's many years at PPS, she has witnessed big changes to the company. One thing however has remained constant; PPS's commitment to our patients. "Some of our patients are alone, with no family or friends." Yolanda confides "It feels good to know you helped to brighten someone's day just by talking to them on the phone".

Glenn McMahon, Center OperationsA Day in the Life of a Technician

Glenn McMahon, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

"We build relationships with patients at PPS," says Glenn McMahon, a technician at our Oklahoma City Center. "The patients feel comfortable with technicians because we are there to help them through their initial set up."

Glenn starts his mornings restocking his van and going over the route for the day with the customer service representatives at the center. He checks in with the other technicians and heads out to assist PPS patients. A typical route involves dropping off tanks and aiding patients with initial set ups for oxygen, nebulizers, and CPAP machines. Technicians are also responsible for performing home safety evaluations to ensure the equipment is working properly, and to confirm that patients understand and comply with physicians' orders. The day ends for Glenn where it began, at the center, cleaning his van and turning in patient paperwork for processing.

"I have the privilege to be working under a great management team that allows me to learn and grow," Glenn says. Being part of a great team is what Glenn attributes as his secret to providing the excellent patient care for which PPS is known. "We take our work seriously here at PPS, but we still find time for a good laugh."
